These days more and more reported illnesses are becoming apparent and if you have chosen to make a life-changing move towards a plant-based diet whether it be for health reasons or compassionate reasons, we are here as a support.

My goal with the founding of Vegan Online was to make it just that little bit more accessible and effortless for people to shop cruelty-free. Being vegan for some can at first feel daunting and isolating, coupled with the difficulty of truly knowing if a product is 'vegan' can be stressful. We take away all that stress by bringing all your favourite 100% vegan foods and beauty products to one place.

My compassion for animals started when I was 13 joining the anti-vivisection union and continued to expand my knowledge. As an adult, I supported several animal welfare groups but felt I needed to be doing more. After researching further I discovered the atrocities that were inflicted against animals to satisfy our everyday desires; for example, the horror within the meat industry, chicken farming, in circuses, zoos, animal testing in laboratories etc. My opinions evolved, I became a vegetarian, in the famous words of George Bernard Shaw, "Animals are my friends and I don't eat my friends."

Later after more research, I welcomed a plant-based diet and the opening of my online store in 2010. With a vision in mind in November 2011, my husband and I bought a property in the Adelaide Hills and opened the first farm animal sanctuary in South Australia ~ Freedom Hill Sanctuary, with our first rescue sheep called Lynn named after Lyn White from Animals Australia and our first rescued bobby calf called Teddy. We continue to expand with rescued animals finding peace, love, warmth and a forever home at Freedom Hill Sanctuary but without government funding, and being self-funded at most times it is extremely difficult. In 2013 I opened the first vegan grocery retail store in South Australia, Everything Vegan, offering a cafe with outdoor seating, and customer service not met elsewhere. Everything Vegan is in Goodwood, central to the city and is a key location for an effortless shopping experience with all profits being returned to the sanctuary.

I am proud to say that I have an awesome team at Vegan Online and Everything Vegan who along with myself make your shopping experience pleasurable, hassle-free and effortless. To top it off, knowing your money is going to a worthy cause is immeasurable.
